I cried to stop her, but she moved on

I cried to stop her, but she moved on

Her heart set on a settled life, my struggles gone

I begged her to stay, to give me a chance

But she had already made up her mind, without a second glance

She wanted someone stable, with a secure job

But I was still fighting, to climb that hill, to break that cobweb

I loved her with all my heart, but it wasn't enough

For in her eyes, I was still rough

I cried to stop her, but she moved on

Leaving me behind, my heart so torn

But I knew deep down, that she was right

For I had to keep fighting, to keep up the fight

I'll climb that hill, and break that cobweb

I'll become the person, she wanted me to be instead

And though she may never come back, I'll be strong

For in my heart, I know, I can't go wrong

I cried to stop her, but she moved on

And though it hurts, I'll keep moving along

For life is too short, to be stuck in the past

I'll keep fighting, and make my dreams last.
